"Ageing well is about quality of life. Research holds the key to unlocking the possibilities of ageing well"
"We are what we eat." This is true at any age, particularly as we get older. To ensure you are giving your body the best nutrition to age well:
  • enjoy a wide variety of nutritious foods
  • eat plenty of breads and cereals (preferably wholegrain), vegetables (including legumes) and fruits
  • eat a diet low in fat (in particular, saturated fat)
  • maintain a healthy body weight by balancing physical activity and food intake
  • if you drink alcohol, limit your intake
  • eat only a moderate amount of sugar (and foods containing sugar)
  • choose low salt foods and use salt sparingly
  • drink plenty of fluids, especially water
If you have any concerns about your diet or would like to know how to improve your nutritional intake, please consult a dietitian or your doctor.
